Supabase development for sites that need to store data

Static pages are fast, but sometimes a site needs memory: saved leads, quiz results, listings. Supabase gives us a hosted Postgres database and authentication, so a lightweight site can store and show data without a heavy server.

Just enough backend

We add a backend only when the site needs one. The aim is to keep the public pages static and push dynamic work into a small, well-guarded data layer.

Security is the first design question. We set access rules so visitors can only do what you intend, such as submitting a form but never reading other entries.

What we set up

  • Tables designed around your real fields, with sensible types and indexes.
  • Row-level access rules that limit who can read or change each record.
  • An admin view for browsing and exporting leads.
  • Scheduled jobs or functions for cleanup and notifications.
  • Documentation covering the structure and how to back it up.

Backups and exports

Data you cannot get out is a liability. We confirm that you can export your tables at any time and that backups run on a schedule suited to the plan you choose.

We also keep keys out of public code and rotate them if a team member leaves, which is a small step that prevents large problems.

How it runs

  1. Model

We decide what data is stored and who can see it.

  2. Build

The project is created and rules are tested.

  3. Connect

The website talks to it through safe keys.

  4. Hand over

You receive notes and admin access.

Who it fits

Owners with lead volumes too large for email, directories that need searchable records and developers wanting a tidy data layer.

Questions about Supabase Website Backends

Do I need this for a basic site?

No. A plain contact form is enough for many sites. We recommend a backend only when it saves real effort.

Who owns the data?

You do. The project sits in your account, and we remove our access on request.

Is it expensive to run?

Hosting needs vary with usage, and we explain the plan options before you commit.
